Liminal Air Fluctuation-Existance / 2015

Pascale Mussand artistic director of the Hermes workshop, invites you to discover the Japanese artist Shinji Ohmaki at the Hermes store on Rue de Sevres.
The artist has conceived an experiential work that opens a new chapter in the “Liminal Air” series, installations of air and fabric that play with gravity and emphasize opposites – shadow and light, visible and invisible, inside and outside.
The work asks to be experienced, offers itself up for contemplation.
Fully, abundantly, it becomes part of the space, reinterpreting gravity with shifting air and light in the form of suspended veil, a sort of ethereal circus. It quivers, breathes fills with air, luminosity and vapour.
Like a living object in constant fluctuation, it moves slowly in the space.
Through his creation, Shinji Ohmaki encourages the visitor’s immersive interaction with his artistic project it offers a contemplative.
Exquisitely poetic experience, as well as a preview of the zabuton prototypes made for Hermes.
